OCDSA Children's Benevolent Fund
The Oakland County Deputy Sheriff’s Association (OCDSA) Children’s Benevolent Fund was formed in 1997 as a way for the OCDSA to make an impact in the lives of children. The OCDSA has been a quiet benefactor of charitable causes in Oakland County for many years. The Children’s Benevolent Fund is a way for us to focus our charitable resources on a segment of our community who are unable to help themselves. The officers and board of directors are volunteers who are deputies at the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. We invite anyone who knows of a child in need to make a request for assistance. All requests must be submitted in writing through a member of the OCDSA, and can be given to any Oakland County Sheriff’s deputy. For more information on submitting a request for assistance, making a donation to the CBF, or about the Children’s Benevolent Fund, please contact us.

CJ Mahoney's Comes Through Again!
Thanks go out again to our good friends at CJ Mahoney’s in Rochester Hills.  For the second year in a row the good people at CJ Mahoneys have donated the proceeds form the 50-50 raffle at their annual golf outing to the Children’s Benevolent Fund.  CBF President Mike Hall accepted the gift of $740 from Deputy Bruce Lidgard who is one of the outing’s organizers.

Our friends at CJ Mahoney’s also were a sponsor of the first Rockin’ Road Rally this past June, providing the venue for the after rally party as well as some great food and drink.  We would like to publicly thank CJ Mahoney’s for being a great friend and supporter of the Children’s Benevolent Fund.

The 1st Rock-n-Road Rally a Huge Success

The first annual Children’s Benevolent Fund Rockin’ Road Rally held Saturday June 7th was a “rockin’” success.  Everyone had a great time both on the road rally and at the party later at CJ Mahoney’s in Rochester Hills.  Jennifer Miles and Lisa Ludwig and their crew did an excellent job coordinating the entire event.  From picking the locations, to writing the clues, to obtaining donations and prizes, they did it all!

Many thanks go to our great volunteers who manned the clue locations, and helped at the party among many other things.  Among the volunteers were Mike Miles, Terry and Jan Rezmer, Teri Miles, Tammy Ayer-Belian, Jared Belian, Jenna Belian, James Boomer, Bruce Lidgard, Chris Cadotte, Carol and Steve Sokol, Amy Shimmell, Travis and Denise Dick, Joe and Dana Leblond, and many other members of Jen’s family.  We certainly could not have done this without their help.

This event wouldn’t have been the success it was without our generous sponsors:

The Suburban Collection
Laramie Enterprises
FEG Gage & Engineering
Rembrandt Kitchens & Baths

Special thanks also go out to CJ Mahoney’s Sports Grille in Rochester Hills for being the final destination as well as hosting the party.  They provided a fantastic dinner and everyone enjoyed a great party on the patio.

Many, many thanks to everyone involved who helped to make this the single most successful event in our history.  We are already looking forward to a bigger and better event next year!
